We’re more than half-way through Advent, which means that those of us who haven’t yet ticked off all the names on our gift list had better get a move on. For various personal reasons, the last few months haven’t been especially easy at Maison Persolaise, so we’re all looking forward to an opportunity to shut the door on the outside world, take our time over a hearty meal and enjoy each other’s company. In anticipation of this festive cheer, I’m pleased to host one of Andy Tauer‘s traditional Advent draws here on Persolaise.com once again. This time, the prize is a 30 ml bottle of a Tauerville Flash perfume: the winner will get to choose one from Rose, Amber, Incense and Vanilla.

To enter, please read the terms and conditions below and then leave a comment on the subject of counting our blessings. One line will do. Did anything happen to you in 2015 for which you’re particularly grateful? [Please note this draw is open only to readers in the UK, USA, Switzerland, France, Germany and Austria.]
Some of you may be aware that this year, in addition to his prize draws, Andy has marked Advent by making donations to various charities. I’d like to extend the gesture by making a donation to a local hospice – The Rowans Hospice – the staff of which were extremely helpful to my family recently. If you’d like to find out about their work, please click here, and to make a donation to them, please click here.
My thanks to Andy Tauer for including me in his Advent celebrations.

I'm grateful that my daughter's transfer to Secondary School has been smooth and that she's made some new friends. It probably sounds like a tiny thing to be grateful for, but it was a year in the planning.

  13. I am grateful for my nose. It is a gift, being able to dive into the world of fragrants. On the other hand it can be a burden, especially when you walk through a museum and the heavy scent of deep fried food from the museum's cantine is everywhere. 😉

    Greetings from Vienna!

  19. Sometimes I feel envious of others who have financial security and better health and just better lives. But then I hear from friends who are going through darker times than me, and try to be grateful for what I do have and to be a resource for others as much as I can be.
Sometimes it's just being grateful that I can look at art, or inhale it, or be in nature, and be moved–there was a time I had trouble feeling much of anything, but now I can feel alive and be glad.

  20. I've been able to travel, and to push myself both physically and mentally in those travels. I try to travel at least a few times a year, but this year was exceptional with regards to the things done, so I'm happy for that.

  21. Thankful for the blessings in life, that is easy. Praying for a character that is thankful for the hardships, and to think of them as blessings as well. Merry Christmas to all!

  29. i am greatful for our family's health this year. I often think of those less fortunate, especially those in hospices at this time of year

  30. How sad that it's so easy to ignore the good and complain of the bad, when the fact that we've the time to grumble is proof itself of what we have! So far from bring rote enumeration, the act of counting helps us to focus our attention and better appreciate our blessings. I am in particular thankful for the NHS doctors, nurses and other staff, whether hospital-based or otherwise. They deserve far more praise than they get.

  31. I'm grateful for the successful birth of our son this past August! Happy holidays to you, Persolaise.

  36. I am grateful for good health and my family all in good health – it is easy to not appreciate the small things until we don't have them. I am grateful for being part of a global perfume community.
