I genuinely cannot believe that 15 years have passed since I started posting my humble little scribblings here on Persolaise.com, and yet I cannot deny the truth of it. What a different place the world was in 2010. We had our fair share of disasters — not least, the earthquake in Haiti — and yet somehow, the prevailing feeling was that better times were around the corner, that there was cause for optimism. I wonder if the same could be said of today. I would suggest that there’s always a reason to be optimistic, but that maybe nowadays we need to look for optimism in different places. Amongst them might be the communities we’re able to build online, not unlike the one all of you have helped me construct here on this website as well as on my YouTube channel and my Substack. You have no idea how grateful I am for all the support you give me to enable me to continue my perfume work. Thank you, thank you, thank you, again and again!

To mark this anniversary, I broadcast a special Ask Me Anything video over on YouTube in which I answered questions from the live audience, as well as from my social media followers. Here’s a link to the episode: Persolaise 15th anniversary Ask Me Anything video.

Here’s to another 15 years… and to unending optimism,

Persolaise

  1. Huge congrats on your 15 years, Persolaise – & I’ll raise a glass to the next 15 for sure. Can’t remember when I first discovered your site, or indeed how – although possibly through Now Smell This or Bois de Jasmin – but it has been a while!

I love hearing from my readers, so please feel free to write a comment or ask a question.
