Where do you start? Aurelien Guichard is the creator of Gucci Guilty, Tom Ford Sole Di Positano and Armani Bleu Turquoise, amongst many others. He is one of the most important perfumers behind the preservation of the scents from Robert Piguet. And he is now the co-founder of his own brand, Matiere Premiere. Small wonder, then, that it was difficult to decide what to ask him when he popped into the virtual studio the other day. Still, we did our best to cover as many topics as possible, discussing his views on the creative process, his use of the ancient enfleurage extraction technique for his brand’s latest release, French Flower, and his thoughts on succumbing to commercial pressures. Here’s a link to the video: Aurelien Guichard interview.
