The UK branch of Look Good Feel Better has teamed up with Selfridges to put together a week-long Festival Of Fragrance at the beginning of March. I’m deeply honoured to have been asked to take part in the event’s opening: an evening meal interspersed with presentations from passionate scentusiasts (including Odette Toilette, Vicci Bentley, Jo Fairley and yours truly) followed by an unprecedented, out-of-hours opportunity to go shopping in the perfumery department, mingle with fellow perfume lovers and, hopefully, raise funds for this wonderful cause.

You’ll find more info in the following extract from the official press release. Even if you can’t attend any of the events planned for the festival, please do take a moment to read about the work carried out by Look Good Feel Better and consider making a donation.

This first Festival of Fragrance takes place from 2nd to 10th March, focusing on Mother’s Day 2013 (10th March) and celebrating the special cross-generational relationship between mothers, daughters and grandmothers and the memories that fragrances evoke. The Festival of Fragrance is a chance to celebrate and discover all that makes fragrance so personal and offers mothers and daughters a number of events to enjoy together through a love of scent.

The highlight of the Festival will be an exclusive Dinner on Monday 4th March, followed by an out-of-hours shopping experience – a first from the luxury retailer. Those lucky enough to secure a ticket to this one-off event will sample dinner at the fashionable HIX restaurant in Selfridges and have the opportunity to hear fragrance tips and stories from experts such as Jo Fairley, Vicci Bentley, Persolaise and Odette Toilette. Finally, to end a near perfect evening, guests will then be able to shop in the world famous Selfridges Fragrance Hall after the store has closed to the public, giving them unrivalled access to fragrance consultants and offering them the chance to experience fragrance at their leisure.

In order to achieve a really positive amount for charity, each brand involved will make a donation of £1 per fragrance product sold during the Festival, allowing LGFB to further develop its unique Programme of helping women combat the visible side effects of cancer and cancer treatment through its free workshops at over 65 hospitals and cancer centres in the UK.

The exclusive dinner will take place on 4th March 2013
Time: Dinner – 6.30 pm, followed by out-of-hours shopping from 8.30 pm – 9.30 pm
Booking: 0207 318 3438
Tickets: £50 with a donation from each ticket to LGFB
