As part of their 40th anniversary celebrations, Amouage have just added two scents to their range of Exceptional Extraits: Jubilation 40 Man (Bertrand Duchaufour) and Dia 40 Woman (Alexandra Carlin). The brand’s Chief Creative Officer, Renaud Salmon, joined me in my YouTube studio the other day to share some of the fascinating stories about how these two new releases came into existence, including the intriguing tale of why Jubilation 40 has to be aged for 10 weeks before it can be bottled. Our chat branched off into other subjects as well: the emotive issue of price increases, the current aesthetic direction of the brand and, unsurprisingly, the extremely limited-edition re-release, in ornate crystal bottles, of Cristal & Gold (the original Amouage scents, which we now know as Gold Woman and Gold Man). Here’s a link to the interview: Renaud Salmon, Amouage, live interview.

Enjoy!
