Latin has never been my strong point, so it was with some trepidation that I introduced the new Trudon Vixi, composed by Emilie Bouge, over on YouTube the other day. Here’s a link to the video: Trudon Vixi review.

Towards the end of Vixi’s development, as the green notes are taken over by an unexpectedly boorish, stubble-covered sandalwood, the spell cast by the opening loses its power. But while it lasts, it creates a bewitching vista: vines and sappy leaves nudged away from slumber by a gentle, jasmine-coloured sun. The naturalness of the image is its strongest asset.
