There’s a disturbance in the force. Or is it just the new Creed? Much to the amusement of several viewers, the latest release from the brand, Viking Cologne, was reviewed in a recent episode of Love At First Scent. Here’s a link: Creed Viking Cologne review.

In the spirit of keeping negativity at arm’s length, I shall simply say that Viking Cologne and Persolaise did not get on. Evidently, the brand enjoys the support of a large number of patrons, so they must be doing something right for some people. To my nose, this sort of faux-citrus, faux-lavender, faux-sandalwood construction is repugnant in the extreme: cynicism at its most depressing. So let us just push it one side and move on.

  1. I really enjoy reading your reviews and watching your videos. Thank you for your video describing and recommending Guerlain Herba Fresca. I am now on my third 125ml bottle. It’s perfect for going training and in warmer weather. I really like Annick Goutal L’ile au The, but it’s hard to get hold of it in UK (I send for it from an Italian website and recently a website in Netherlands)
My passion for perfume began as a small child with a tiny bottle of Iris Gris by Jacques Fath. It must have been in about 1955. My sister had a very small bottle from a glamorous friend who worked in a Dept Store in Liverpool. Times were hard and money didn’t stretch to buying perfume (think I more than compensate for the hard times now!) I never forgot that amazing perfume and I can still conjure it up in my scent memory now. Unfortunately, probably nothing like the current (expensive) version being produced these days.
    Memories!
Thank you again for your reviews and YouTube videos.

    1. Thanks for this wonderful comment, Jackie. I love your Iris Gris story — how amazing. And I’m so pleased you enjoy Herba Fresca.

I love hearing from my readers, so please feel free to write a comment or ask a question.
