Another year, another flanker to Le Male. The latest one calls itself Jean-Paul Gaultier Le Male Le Parfum (although, confusingly, it’s an eau de parfum intense) and it’s reviewed in episode 117 of Love At First Scent. Here’s a link: Jean-Paul Gaultier Le Male Le Parfum review.
What was it I said in the video? Teenage boys of the western world rejoice! I suspect this release will tick all the right boxes as far as fans of the original Le Male are concerned (and heaven knows, there are thousands of them), so JPG are likely to have a sizeable hit on their hands with this one. It remains faithful to the sweet-vanillic-lavender fougere identity of its great-great-grandfather, while adding just enough spicy, woody darkness to justify the ‘intense’ label. Harmless. Inoffensive. Bound to become the scent-scape of countless teenage parties… if ever such activities resume in a post-lockdown world.
