Few things can dispel the winter gloom as effectively as perfume — especially if you choose a scent that’s distinctive, dramatic and full of striking contrasts. A Baroque perfume, you might say. So, in order to do my bit for warding off the hibernal doldrums, over on YouTube, I presented a list of my Top 10 Baroque fragrances, with each one connected to a key piece of Baroque art — no mean feat for someone who doesn’t really know his Caravaggios from his Gentileschis! Here’s a link to the video, followed by a list of all the scents covered, with timestamps: Top 10 Baroque perfumes.

Frederic Malle Une Fleur De Cassie 8:15
Les Indemodables Oriental Velours 15:27
Histoires De Parfums 1740 20:34
Chanel Coco 24:54
L’Artisan Parfumeur Mont De Narcisse 30:03
Marc-Antoine Barrois B683 extrait 36:55
Caron Parfum Sacre 41:32
Cartier Must Gold 46:28
Guerlain Vol De Nuit 51:03
Serge Lutens Iris Silver Mist 53:29
YSL Opium 56:33

So, make yourself a hot chocolate, wrap up warm and enjoy the video.
