In the decade since the brand was launched, Nishane has certainly managed to wrestle a significant patch of the perfumed limelight to itself and has worked its way into some of the world’s top retailers. To mark its tenth anniversary – and, no doubt, to celebrate its achievements – its founders have released what they’ve dubbed the X Collection: reworkings of five of their most successful compositions. Here’s a link to my recent Love At First Scent review of them – Nishane X Collection review – followed by a complete list of the scents, with timestamps.

Wulong Cha X 4:04
Hacivat X 8:05
Fan Your Flames X 10:59
Hundred Silent Ways X 15:00
Ani X 17:57

On this occasion, I don’t have a great deal to add to what I said during the broadcast. Nishane’s hyper-bombastic aesthetic isn’t one I find particularly commendable, and although Ani X and Hundred Silent Ways X aren’t entirely devoid of praiseworthy features (a pleasantly skin-licking vanilla in the case of the former and a generally well-balanced floral-leather accord in the latter) there isn’t enough here to warrant a recommendation. I’ll be curious to discover what fans of the original versions make of these new iterations.
