A few months ago, Tobba launched in the UK as a Harvey Nichols exclusive with a collection of six scents, composed by the artist Jasper Li. I reviewed the brand’s debut fragrances in a recent episode of Love At First Scent, which you can find at this link: Tobba showcase review. For a full list of the perfumes covered, together with timestamps, please keep reading.

Indolence 4:38
Ombre Verte 8:21
Tendresse D’Automne 13:27
Rose On The Shore 17:01
Serendipity 20:30
Force 25:16

I can’t see these shaking up the scented stratosphere any time soon, but if you happen to find yourself next to some testers, you might like to sniff Serendipity and Force. The former is interesting as an unlikely intersection of Tom Ford Black Orchid and the much-missed Frederic Malle Dries Van Noten: angry, spicy florals clashing against, but eventually settling onto creamy sandalwood. And the latter is a strange mix of the shrillness of pine with the bassier tones of myrrh and leather: an acidic landscape as conjured by a mischievous imp. It doesn’t convince entirely, but it gets a thumbs up for daring to be different.
