If the name Rosarine makes you think of a cross between a rose and some form of sweet, juicy fruit, you wouldn’t be far off the mark. The finger-licking combo is at the heart of the latest release from Pissara Umavijani’s brand Dusita, and I reviewed it in a video which you can find at this link: Dusita Rosarine review.

The link between roses and sugary fruit (in this case: raspberry and lychee) has been explored in perfumery for decades, and I’m not sure Rosarine has anything new to find within this territory. But if all it’s trying to do is re-tread old ground, at least it does so with conviction and with the generosity and largesse that we have come to associate with Umavijani’s creation style. Surrounded by the grandiose personalities of iris, jasmine, cocoa, patchouli and sandalwood, the rose holds its own and takes on larger-than-life proportions: an assertive, full-bodied soloist amongst an orchestra of limelight-stealers. The tune it sings is perhaps a touch old-fashioned, but it’s sincere.
