As I discovered while interviewing him, this person really didn’t need an introduction. But for the sake of the one or two of you out there who don’t know him: Eugen Nizic is the Canada-based perfume critic behind the U Smells Good YouTube channel. More importantly, as far as my recent video was concerned, he is the man who has crossed over to the production side of the industry by founding Les Abstraits, the perfume brand with scents made by Antoine Lie. During our chat, Eugen talked about his latest release, Des Cendres, as well as his thoughts on perfume as a means of therapy, his working relationship with Lie and how he got his dream project off the ground. Here’s a link to the broadcast: Eugen Nizic, Les Abstraits, U Smells Good live interview.

  1. I remeber one of Eugene’s upload where he brought a bottle of something he didn’t like, and set it on fire with anacetylene torch. Eugene has changed so much. The divorce of his wife. How he rebirthed into this amazing man. I enjoyed Eugene before, and now, impressive.
Oh, I did watch Parallel Mothers. I did enjoy it. I would have liked to change a few things. Some of the close-ups,
to close. In the last kitchen scene. Their backs were against each other. The counter in the middle, appropriate. I think that’s all you needed, just different angels. The closeups were to close, and the moment was detracted from this. I enjoyed The Interviews of the victims at the end. I would have made it The List. More of them, and there photos in high contrast, then fade into the interview. Liitle less time with the interviews, thus more photos/victim’s,
plus interviews. I think it would have given the scene more impact. I loved the final known resting place marchthe caryying of the photos, especially the bodies of those lying over the deceased. Oh, I also loved when Arturo/Iseral Elejalde questioned Janis/Penelope Cruz, does she ever age, about the legitimacy of him being the father. I hope those two act togehter again. It was really good.
I realize this is a post about Eugene, and this might not be the perfect place to discuss about a movie, so I apologize. I’m just going to blindly buy his one release. All of us think the world of Eugene. and are happy for his success. Sorry for the spelling. Grammrly doesn’t work here.
Ya know, that grammerly isn’t helping me with my spelling. It just does it for me.
Oh,a very good number of years ago, while in college prep my teacher said something to me.
She said, ” You can be so talented at times, but your just so lackadiacical”.
My reply, ” What does that mean”?
    Her reply, “Look it up”.
Mine, “I don’t know how to spell it”.
Then a frustrated yell “Oh Edward, that’s what I mean”.
I did do Norman Lewis’s Bulding a Better Vocabulary in 60 days on one of her prompts.
    Opthalmologist. See.
    Hope I spelled it right.
Thank you for doing an interview with Eugene Persolaise.
It meant the world to Eugene, and to us fellow fragheads.

I love hearing from my readers, so please feel free to write a comment or ask a question.
