This year’s run of live interviews on Love At First Scent got off to a fascinating start yesterday when I chatted with Remi and Valerie Pulverail. The husband-and-wife team behind the superlative brand, Les Indemodables, joined me from the Bistro De Le Beaute, their perfumery in Annecy, France. If you’re at all interested in watching the episode, I would urge you to do so by heading over to YouTube (here’s a link: Les Indemodables Remi & Valerie Pulverail interview) so that you can follow the very active ‘live chat’ that took place during the broadcast.

It was always going to be impossible to cover everything the Pulverails do in one hour. And sure enough, we barely touched on the Atelier Francais Des Matieres or Eden Ecosystem. However, I feel our conversation captured the breadth of their involvement in the perfume industry – which spans everything from raw-material production to bricks-and-mortar retail – as well as delving into the more scientific side of their work, by which many viewers were especially intrigued. Needless to say, we also talked about some of their Les Indemodables releases, with a particular focus on Vanille Havane, Cuir De Chine and Rose De Jamal.
