And there was me thinking I’d be taking it easy in August! Yesterday saw me broadcast not one, but FIVE live episodes of Love At First Scent over on YouTube — so, as per usual, over the course of the next few days, I’ll link to them from here. The first was a review of the new Dior J’Adore Infinissime, put together by Francois Demachy. One of several flankers of the extremely successful J’Adore (originally composed by Calice Becker), this aims to make the florals in the heart (jasmine-rose-ylang) more expansive and, believe it or not, to bring tuberose into the mix. Even more interesting is the fact that, according to the press release, the tuberose has been extracted using the age-old method of enfleurage. For more details, please watch the video at this link: Dior J’Adore Infinissime review.

By and large, I’d say this scent succeeds in achieving what it sets out to do, and earns its place as one of the superior entries in the J’Adore range, alongside the Absolu and ‘Touche’ variants. There’s a sun-kissed genuineness to the florals, as well as a judicious use of musks which lends the whole a welcome seamlessness. Endearing work.
