I’ve just realised that we’re in the fourth week of the year and we haven’t had a give-away yet. Allow me to make amends. How about a 2 ml sample of the debut fragrance from Marni? Does that sound appealing?
If you’d like to enter the draw, please read the terms and conditions below and then leave a comment on a subject that’s been even more prominent in the UK lately: the weather. As I type these words, the snow that descended upon us last Friday hasn’t melted away yet, although there are more icicles around and some of the snowmen are starting to look rather wobbly. So, what’s your ideal weather? Do you long for heat and sunshine? Or do you enjoy blasts of Arctic iciness?
Please note that despite the restrictions on using air mail to send perfume abroad, I am going to accept entries from anywhere in the world. If the winner is based outside the UK, I’ll use surface mail to post the sample.
Good luck!
Persolaise.

I would love to join the draw.
Talking about a weather. Here in Poland everything is covered with white fluffy caps for almost two weeks already. Temperatures vary but they're usually -5 to -8*C in my regions, in the mountains it's twice this cold!
Happy draw!
Lucas, I haven't experienced a real Polish winter since the early 80s. I'm not sure I could cope with it now 🙂
You're in the draw.
It's very cold here in the US mid west, the coldest it's been all winter, and as we live downwind from Lake Michigan there is lake effect snow as well. I love winter and we're in a drought pattern, so this is good news! Thank you for the draw, you made Marni sound very appealing.
Rosarita, I'm glad there's someone out there who likes the cold.
You're in the draw too.
I'm more of a spring season person, warm & yet you can still move about without getting too hot!
Jean, that sounds ideal.
Your name's on the list.
Hi!
Here in Lisbon we are having these days a rainy, cold and windy winter we already had forgotten could exist! Good days to try a sample of Marni 😉
So, I deserve it…lol.
Congratulations, love your blog!
Insense, thank you. Yes, it's amazing how easily we forget how cold it can be.
You're in the draw.
At the moment we have quite pleasant weather here in northern Sweden, about -5 to -15 with very pretty snow and sunshine most days. About a week ago we had -28 so it's an improvement.
Eva S, -15 is an improvement??! Wow! At least you have sunshine, though. Isn't this the time of year when some countries get no daylight at all?
Your name's on the list.
Another US Midwesterner here; it has been below zero for the past two days. It's been a little while since we've had much snow, however. I should be used to this, but I really would like it to warm up a bit! Thank you for the drawing. Something happy for a cold winter day.
Sunflowers, a bit of warmth wouldn't go amiss here either.
You're in the draw.
Weather… we're back in the 70s here in Austin after a few weeks of horrid, cold, gray days. I can take the cold but I need SUN. Give me SUN, and I'll be happy. Need my Vitamin D. 🙂
Susan, sounds good. Vitamin D in pill form isn't quite the same thing, is it?
You're in the draw.
Hello,
Cold, snow and ice here in Ukraine. I'm waiting for the Spring, but it would be better not complain at -7, as it can be easy -17 🙂
Anna, wow! I can't remember the last time I experienced -17. Maybe I never have…
You're in the draw.
It is simply beautiful here in the U.K. Soft powdery snow sits on every branch and leaf, and crunches under your feet as you walk. I love the way snow changes the acoustics and amplifies all outdoor sounds.
Lee, yes, I agree that the snow can look very pretty… but I think I've had enough now 😉
Your name's on the list.
WARM, please!! I`m glad to live in the South 🙂 I grew up in Cincinatti, then Chicago, then Oklahoma – BBBRRRR!!!!!!! But I love!! snowmen 🙂 🙂
Linda, if only snowmen could survive in heat!
You're in the draw.
It's been really unusual January weather here in my parts of Norway. Icy cold for weeks now, but almost no rain or snow! It usually rains almost continualy here from January to mid-May.
Looking forward to visiting London next month, hopefully it will be springtime-warm and no snow!
Jorid, I hope London treats you well. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the weather's kind.
You're in the draw.
I haven't seen snow for a few years, but now I live in Spain and in we have quite cold weather today 🙁
Victorian, I'll bet the cold spell doesn't last too long for you!
Your name's on the list.
So.. Let's talk about the weather… 😉
I love every kind of weather.
Here in Brittany… rain is our best friend.
But, I like snow at X-Mas time, just as a good magic friend !
I love rain in Spring, the one which makes the grass looks even greener.
I like shinny days with a little warm wind in summer, just to ahev a walk at the seaside (as I live nearby)
I like Autumn, rainy but bright.
It's not so easy to write in english… I could have writen much more in french.
Let's try to win.
I wish good luck to everyone here.
Best wishes from Brittany… the far west of France
Ad Lucem, your English seems absolutely fine to me. I love your descriptions.
You're in the draw.
Ok, I have to admit I'm so over this snow now. Granted, we don't get it that often in the UK but I don't do cold very well! I wouldn't mind so much if the snow stayed soft and powdery but when it turns icy its just horrid. Today I actually got to try out my Yaktrax ice grips for the first time and they're amazing. Impacted icy snow here I come!
Rhian, I had to Google Yaktrax. The snow must be pretty thick where you are!

Love the snow. It always makes me want to be skiing which is a bit difficult in Ealing. >:{ Also reminds me of my lovely childhood building snowmen with coal eyes and buttons in the North-East of England where I grew up.
Angela, I'd love to see someone trying to ski in Ealing!
You're in the draw.
Ahhh, looking out over the Pennines from my kitchen window yesterday I knew why Yorkshire is God's Own County. Mist over the hills in the distance but sunshine on the snow in the cul de sac with children sledging and snowballing. A perfect winter scene 🙂 Only seen by me cos the 4WD transport needed to live here in winter has become I'll, possibly terminally.
Thank you for the generous draw
Alityke, sounds idyllic… for those who like the cold! I hope you get your transport fixed soon.
You're in the draw.
Wow – responses from all around the world! Well here in West London it has tried to snow today – several intense flurries but did not settle – brr. I much prefer to feel the sun's heat on my skin and get a bit of a tan
Anon, I think I'm with you on that one 🙂
Your name's on the list.
It's too cold here. Tonight with the wind chill it's going to be about -20. I don't mind the cold, but that is ridiculous. I prefer autumn weather.
Poodle, that sounds painful. I hope it heats up for you soon.
You're in the draw.
i want Marni sample because NY winter is catching up to Europe now:) ..i hope you announce winner in facebook as well
FMC, yes, Europe seems to be gripped by ice at the moment.
You're in the draw.
I would like to join this drawing – I'd love to try the new Marni with that list of interesting notes! I live in Colorado, USA. Thanks, springpansy (Debby)
Debby, thanks for writing. Any thoughts about the weather?
Hi Dariush!
It's still summer over here,in South Africa.
We are currently experiencing a massive heatwave…how does 38deg celsius sound to you?Haha!I wish we could have some snow, just for the relieve from this heat!
I do love summer though,so I shall not complain too much.My Serge Lutens stock will however have to wait for cooler weather, the only thing bearable to wear currently,is a very light cologne.
Greetings from the south!
Johanob, hello to you too 🙂 38 degrees does indeed sound like heat-wave territory. Brings back memories of PE lessons in 47 degrees!
You're in the draw.
In this part of north Italy we have a pleasent, cloudy day. At the moment (8:45 a.m.) it's 5 degrees C. I prefer the summer weather, but this winter is going to be very mild.
Marcopietro, fingers crossed things don't get too chilly for you.
Your name's on the list.
I can't wait for it to be summer, frankly! The cold's been making me refuse to get out of bed in the morning!
Joshuaang, I know what you mean. The cold… and the dark!
You're in the draw.
I've lived in the Chicago area for most of my life so I'm certainly used to the weather here. That said, I adore the sort of warm clear summer days I associate with my time studying abroad in central Germany. I even miss the winter days where it was nothing but freezing rain, but I always thing of those summer days naturally. It's funny how much I loved the climate there, even with the frequent rain showers. Chicago though is always best on warm summer and fall evenings when the breeze coming off the lake seems to add a little bit of electricity to everything.
Blauriche, thanks for the wonderful description. I'd love to visit Chicago one day.
Your name's on the list.
Me, I'm an autumn person ideally – I like the colours, the smell in the air of impending winter, and I like being able to wear my fabulous coats without actually freezing half to death. BUT. If I had to choose between warmth and cold, I'd take winter every time. I love crunching in the snow, and sitting by the fire.
Mrs Bossa, I'm glad to see that SOMEONE prefers the cold 🙂
You're in the draw.
I would say I enjoy sunshine and heat. But I don't think I would enjoy it as much if I didn't live somewhere where we have cold seasons as well. So I suppose I like the balance. Thank you for the opportunity to win.
Lean, that's an interesting point. You can't appreciate the one without the other, right?
You're in the draw.
I like temperate weather. Light jacket weather. But I guess I wouldn't have anything to complain about if it was like that all the time.
london
London, that's true 🙂 We do love an excuse to let off steam, don't we!
You're in the draw.
*** THE DRAW IS NOW CLOSED ***
