Many of you will be aware that a few days ago, we lost Manfred Thierry Mugler, the designer whose vision was one of the most individualistic the fashion world had ever witnessed. Many of you will also be equally aware that his bold approach to creation spilled over into his fragrance work. It was thanks to his uncompromising attitude that we were given Angel, Alien and Cologne: three truly distinctive examples of modern perfumery. I talked about them, and about the Mugler brand as a whole, in a recent episode of Love At First Scent, during which I also mentioned A*Men, B*Men and the ill-fated Womanity. Here’s a link: Thierry Mugler tribute, with Angel, Alien and Cologne.
