A few years ago, Veronique Spoturno — Francois Coty’s great-granddaughter — launched the Spoturno perfume brand with the legendary Christopher Sheldrake (Ambre Sultan, Muscs Koublai Khan, A La Nuit, amongst many others) as her perfumer. The other day, they popped into my virtual studio for a live interview in which we discussed the creation of the brand, the formulation of both Spoturno 1921 and Barbicaja, and Christopher’s superlative work for Serge Lutens.
