Thierry Wasser’s original Dior Addict celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2022, so it would have made more sense for my review of it to appear last year. But better late than never. Here’s a link to a recent video on this over-looked bombshell of buxomness: Dior Addict eau de parfum review.

If we accept that the current (ie the 2014 version of the) eau de parfum is pretty faithful to Wasser’s 2002 work (which, by many accounts, it is) then it must surely rank as one of the most party-loving compositions the man has ever given us. Yes, it’s green at the top, but never standoffishly so, and with its flirtatious woody notes in the heart and that bass-thumping, larger than life vanilla in the base, it is the absolute quintessence of an orgiastic, Gatsby-esque extravaganza. Don’t bother with the current eau de toilette (which is vastly inferior) but do give the edp a reappraisal the next time that blue bottle catches your eye.

  1. I haven’t smelled the new version but your video made me feel like spraying the original version, a bottle of which o
I still own and it still smells good.

  2. I rememer getting a vintage Dior Addict s as an extra in a trade deal.
When I got it, I was like, ummmm???. OK, I guess.
Two sprays latter. That’s all. Just two sprays and I was moving the wrist I sprayed away from me.
Eye opener and eyebrow raiser. Then, broad a smile.
This ones meant to be worn with clevage and something that flashes sparkly blue.
You know when high heels deamand attention when entering a room.
    That’s vintage Dior Addict.
I’ll see if I can do a sample see with Addict Eau de Parfum.
Oh, just snagged an Opium Gold roud top with the extra number one in the batch code on the bottle.
I have the first 36ml non removalbe cap.
I also have an Opium’s Secrete Parfum sealed in box.
I picked up all three from different purchases for just over $200.
Opium ages so well if its been well taken care of.
Thank you Persoliase for the Addict review.
