Eris Scorpio Rising Review – Antoine Lie; 2022

I know next to nothing about astrology. But that didn’t stop me from enjoying the latest release from Eris: Scorpio Rising, composed by Antoine Lie, author of all the brand’s scents so far. It’s a credit to brand founder Barbara Herman’s skills as a creative director that although Scorpio Rising is markedly different from any of the previous Eris creations – delving, as it does, head-first into the territory of spices – it shares the others’ witchy soul. Since she entered the industry, Herman has explored several different olfactory realms – including leathers, florals and greens – but in each case, she’s ensured that her creations remain enigmatic, unsettling and ever so slightly dangerous. From its pungent opening to its brazenly woody drydown, Scorpio Rising is no exception. And I urge you to seek out a sample.
