There comes a point when you have to concede defeat. Without consulting online databases (the accuracy of which I have no way of verifying) I can no longer say how many different Dior Homme flankers we’ve had, not to mention how many Sauvages, Miss Diors and J’Adores. Through sheer relentlessness, the Dior machine has confused my mind beyond repair. The latest nail in the Dior-shaped coffin in my brain is yet another version of Dior Homme Sport, credited to Francois Demachy. I reviewed it in a recent episode of Love At First Scent, which you can find at this link: Dior Homme Sport 2022 review.

The original, 2008 Dior Homme Sport was, suitably enough, a triumph: playing within the rules of the bracing citrus genre, while adding a note of sparkling originality to proceedings, through its use of ginger. Why it didn’t become a runaway success will forever remain a mystery to me. This latest iteration is as predictable as its predecessor was novel, quickly moving from the citruses to a base of aggressive, unattractively competitive, manspreading woods. I expect it’ll sell extremely well.
