With just a few days to go before the end of ‘city exclusives’ month, I was able to squeeze in a review of the latest from Le Labo: Citron 28, the permanent home of which will be Seoul. To watch the Love At First Scent episode in which I talk about the perfume, please click on this link: Le Labo Citron 28 review.

As those who know the brand well might have expected, this is not a lemon scent. Yes, it starts with a post-shower-clean citrus opening, not unlike their own Bergamote 22, but it then becomes a daylight-fresh jasmine, with some added fizz thanks to a ginger note and, of course, a generous dose of skin-clinging musks. How it’s connected to Seoul is a question I’ll leave to those with a better knowledge of the city than I possess. But that aside, it is a well-executed, innocuous, non-indolic white floral of a sort we’ve sniffed quite a few times before.
