The other day, I was delighted to be joined in my virtual studio by Kaya Sorhaindo, the founder and Creative Director of Folie A Plusieurs. Easily one of the most intriguing brands around at the moment, it treats perfume not so much as a product to be worn – although Sorhaindo concedes that wearability is a factor he considers at some point – but as a means of enhancing or immortalising specific works of art. His latest collection, inspired by Haruki Murakami and Isaac Julien amongst others, features works by Yann Vasnier, Mark Buxton and David Chieze. During our hour-long chat, we discussed his most recent releases and, of course, the path that brought him to the world of perfumery. We also managed to talk about his involvement with none other than Sarge Lutens. To watch the video, please click on this link: Folie A Plusieurs Kaya Sorhaindo interview.
