Yesterday’s live interview with Nick Steward, founder of Gallivant, is now available to watch online, together with the very active ‘live chat’. My thanks again to Nick for agreeing to subject himself to the Persolaise interrogation. Contrary to what one person has suggested, the interview was entirely ‘unstaged’: Nick had no idea what I was going to spring on him. ‘Unscripted, unedited, unrehearsed’ is the motto I’ve used for all my Love At First Scent episodes, and it certainly applies to this one as well.

Do take the time to watch it if you can. Nick was his usual thoughtful, charming self as he told us about the creation of Tokyo and Los Angeles, his thoughts on the current state of the industry, why his range is unlikely to ever have a Paris fragrance, his classic perfume loves, and his time at L’Artisan Parfumeur. You can watch the video above or by clicking on this link: Nick Steward Gallivant interview.

Please don’t forget to tune in to my YouTube channel at 3 pm today (UK time) for an interview with Etienne De Swardt of Etat Libre D’Orange.

  1. Great interview! Really like Nick’s mannerism and the way he translates cities into (even hypothetical) perfumes with elements that don’t first come to mind for others.

I love hearing from my readers, so please feel free to write a comment or ask a question.
