Etat Libre D’Orange She Was An Anomaly Review – Daniela Andrier; 2019

For the 53rd episode of Love At First Scent, I focused on a review of Etat Libre D’Orange She Was An Anomaly, composed by Daniela Andrier. The perfume comes with a characteristically quirky – and fascinating – story, combining Nina Simone and Stanley Kubrick with Carto, Givaudan‘s AI perfume-formulation aid. Perhaps, as one of the video’s live viewers said, it should have been called ‘Eau De Algorithm’. You can hear my detailed thoughts on it in the broadcast (click here to watch it) but in a nutshell, I’d say it sees ELDO in the more commercial mode that they occasionally feel they must adopt. Understandably.
