I don’t want to speak too soon, but I think it’s safe to say that the Invasion Of The Day Job (Summer 2011) is just about over. If you experience a momentary gale force wind in your corner of the world, that’ll be me breathing a sigh of relief.

Thanks very much indeed for bearing with me over these last few weeks. And more importantly, thanks to Mandy Aftel, Ronny Geller, Olfactoria, Carrie Meredith and Elena Vosnaki for their wonderful guest posts. I do hope you enjoyed reading them as much as I enjoyed hosting them.

I would love to be able to write that life is now going to return to normal, but things are never allowed to remain static at Maison Persolaise for very long. I’ve got about three weeks in which to play around with my lotions and potions, but then it’ll be time for me and Madame P to pack our bags and embark on our summer adventure. So yes, I think I’d better stop procrastinating and head for my lab. I fancy easing myself back into the scented world with something relatively simple. Maybe a candle… or a soap…

…and then tonight, I’ll be settling before the TV for Episode 2 of Ian Denyer’s Perfume documentary… not least because one of the people it’ll feature is someone I know rather well…

Persolaise.

PS Please don’t forget that you’ve got until Thursday night to enter the draw for one of Mona Di Orio’s latest creations.

  1. Good to know your free time will be coming up. Day jobs suck! Get yourself self-employed and work, longer, harder hours than you ever imagined! Least that's what I hear.. lol

Where are you off to on your holidays?

  2. Is the mystery guest yourself or Andy Tauer?? 🙂 Were yt in your scented shoes, I`d go for creating a soap – it`s HOT outside, and soap refreshes! I can`t even mailorder candles in our summer heat – they meltdown almost like icecream! 🙂 Do you create sachets?

  3. Liam, I should say that my day job is probably better than most, but yes… it doesn't represent what I'd really like to be doing with my life.

As for my holiday… I think my gorgeous Madame P and I are going to cross the Channel and see where our noses take us 😉

  4. Linda, the 'mystery' speaker definitely isn't me: I was interviewed, but I ended up on the cutting room floor. And it isn't Andy either, sadly.

No, I've never made a sachet, but I confess I'm tempted to try making a candle.

  5. I hope you'll spend wise your "free-er" time. Three weeks is nothing.
All of your guests were great, you have good friends.

  6. Undina, I hope you won't mind my disagreeing with you slightly: three weeks isn't much, but it is actually better than nothing 😉

And yes, my blog buddies are great. I'm very fortunate that they wrote for me. Mind you, my readers are pretty cool too.

I love hearing from my readers, so please feel free to write a comment or ask a question.
