I hope your weekend’s going well so far. I just wanted to remind you that you’ve got until Thursday night (UK time) to enter my special competition marking the first anniversary of this blog. The entries I’ve received so far have been absolutely superb. I already knew that my readers are a highly eloquent bunch, but I confess I wasn’t expecting to be so moved by the sentiments you’ve expressed. I think I’m going to have to enlist the assistance of Madame Persolaise when the time comes to choose a winner; I’m not sure I’m up to making the decision on my own.
In other news… some of you may like to read my Basenotes article on the recent UK launch of Andrea Maack’s three perfumes; here’s a link to my review of the scents.
I thought it might also be worth mentioning the names of some of the perfumes upon which I hope to turn my critical gaze over the next few weeks. Fingers crossed, I’ll soon publish my thoughts on a few of Dior’s La Collection scents, as well as the latest re-release from Gorilla Perfumes, the irreverently named Dirty. If all goes according to plan, I’m also planning to write about L’Artisan’s Coeur De Vétiver Sacré (which was only recently released in the UK) as well as MDCI’s La Belle Hélène, a sample of which may just make its way to one lucky Persolaise reader…
Finally, I’d like to give you all a heads-up about a rather exciting development. Wearing my ‘freelance Basenotes writer’ hat, I’ve managed to secure an interview with an influential figure in the UK perfume industry. I won’t say who the person is just yet, but within the next week or so, I’ll be asking you for ideas about the sorts of questions you’d like me to ask them. And TRUST ME: you are going to have LOTS of questions for this particular individual!
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday,
Persolaise.

  1. Hi Persolaise!

Can't wait for your reviews on Gorilla's re-releases. And I must say, you've got me on edge regarding that interview! Hope you have lots of fun doing it and I'm sure I'll have fun reading about it!

  2. Cutecandyhearts, the Dirty review should be up soon… and as for the interview… I suspect most people will be very interested in finding out about it.

I love hearing from my readers, so please feel free to write a comment or ask a question.
