A bit of fun! To mark the approach of Halloween – which is an event I don’t think I’ve ever ‘celebrated’ in my entire life – I decided to devote a YouTube video to a Top 10 list of scary perfumes: scents that are in some way unsettling, intimidating or creepy. Needless to say, the subject generated a fair amount of discussion amongst the live audience, so do take the time to read their comments and their own suggestions for frightening fragrances. This is such an interesting list! Very thematic and Halloween-y. Personally, I find highly salty marine scents the scariest. Something about them feels like dripping poison and toxicity to me; I admire the artistry but just can’t wear them. Womanity feels like a double-scary scent to me because it combines that dripping saltiness with a bright pink melon bubblegum that makes me think of popular high school girls that would give you a weird look across the hallway. I have a sample of Secretions Magnifiques that’s been sitting unopened for months because I just can’t make myself face it, lol.
