They say you need to try everything at least once. I’ve never subscribed to that point of view, believing that it’s more important to be able to claim that there are some things I’ve never done. Getting a tattoo is one of them, although I’m more than happy to immerse myself in the olfactory dimension of the world of inks and needles if it smells anything like the latest creation from Akro: Ink. I reviewed it over on YouTube the other day. Here’s a link: Akro Ink review.
As I said in the video, it’s wonderful to see Akro shaping up to be one of the most exciting and coherent new additions to the scentscape. Every single one of their releases is legible and convincing within the overall aesthetic of the brand. And I’m pleased to say that Ink follows this trend. Blackly metallic, cool and yet also earthy at the same time, it uses aldehydes, jasmine and a funky vetiver note to capture the peculiarly edgy, bitter-silver quality ink. A wonderful piece of work, in the vein of Lalique Encre Noire and Byredo M/M Ink. Well worth seeking out.
