  1. Mr Cresp worked on kokorico with annick menardo- would love to hear about that!

  2. Hi Persolaise, I would probably say my most favourite Cresp fragrance is Light Blue. This one reminds me of caravan holidays spent in the Loire Valley, Saumur, as my mother used to wear this one in the summer! We would cycle from our campsite into the town, normally in the sweltering 34 degree heat, but it was all made okay by the refreshing Light Blue accompanying us.

  3. Light Blue may not be the most ground breaking perfume, but it is an old friend and standby nonetheless in hot weather or when working out when I want to feel clean.

  4. I admire Olivier Cresp a lot. Angel arguably is one of the technically and commercially innovative and influential perfumes ever made. It is as important as Coty Chypre, Fougere Royal, Jicky, Shalimar, eau sauvage and cool water. All the best from Ireland.

  5. Very interesting interview would love to give smoke ago one day to see how it got such a powerful response from you

  6. There are so many wonderful fragrances crated by Mr Cresp to choose from, difficult decision, but I am going to chose Pivoine Angel. So good that perfumers start creating their own fragrances, and have a free hand to create their own scented stories.
It was a very enjoyable live this evening, great to hear Olivier Cresp’s stories. Thanks Darius for leading this enjoyable chat!

  7. Hi Persolaise, I don’t know this fragrance house but I’d absolutely love the chance to discover them! Christmas is coming and I’m desperately seeking a new fragrance. Possibly, like you too, I’m only happy when surrounded by beautiful scents, I don’t feel complete without a perfume on, every single day. I hope you are well and thanks also for your reviews, always wonderfully honest and informed. Take good care.

  8. I haven’t tried much of Cresp’s work. I have a difficult relationship with Angel — I appreciate its originality, but don’t like how it smells. I like Givenchy Gentlemen Cologne, though. Thanks for the draw, and best of luck!

  9. Olivier Cresp is such a bold perfumer. I ordered the discovery box from Akro and each one was well defined with great blending. Malt was my favourite.

  10. Hello Persolaise! So many Cresp creations to choose from but I love Light Blue and Light Blue Intense. Light Blue is a groundbreaking line which be worn for years to come. I also love the Gentleman line from Givenchy. Great take on Iris.

  11. Aire, Kokorico, Black Opium, Gloria, there are so many different scents Olivier has created and they’re all so different in genre and complexity, flair and craftsmanship is what comes to mind when I think of his work. Akron’s Midnight and Smoke sound beautiful, they’re on my wishlist!

  12. Unbelievable how many fragrances this man has created, Dune for men has to be a favourite and is definitely underrated.

    1. Angel! I smelled it a while ago, and found it to be one the most divisive perfume ever existed. I do admire how bold, mysterious and surprising it is.

  13. Olivier Cresp has created a universe of scent that I would like to discover.

    1. What a wonderful live and so interesting to hear about Angel which I fell head over heels with ‘ the moment I smelled it at its launch on a visit to London with a beau ‘ who promptly bought it for me . I have bought the Akro discovery set and look forward to trying them all . I think I will like Smoke the most as someone says it smells like Lui ‘ a favourite of mine . Thank you so much for the pleasure of listening to you both .

  14. Great interview, as ever, Persolaise.

Favourite Cresp for me is probably his reworking of Rochas Femme (does that count?) since it reminds me of my mother. She used to wear it on special occasions when I was a child.

  15. If I have a chance to choose, firstly I will grab HAZE and after that I pick NIGHT from Akro.
Once upon a time…I liked Light Blue so much but respect to Olivier Cresp for Angel creation.Just tried Flashback and Bendito Beso samples.

  16. I think it took me a while to appreciate what a marvel Angel is. It’s as if that perfume poured every excess from the 80s into a massive goblet and drank it down in one. The absolute riot of smells going on there wears so effortlessly. It’s a total joy.

  17. Support to be repetitive, but it really must be Angel. The shock of experiencing something that was such a departure from the existing mainstream really can’t be overstated.

    1. I would definitely say Flash Back is my favourite from Olivier Cresp’s creations. I adore that sour vetivery scent.
Thanks for the interview and the draw🙏

  18. I love love love angel and all the memories it holds for me. I have the starry pendant with the dry perfume in it that I wore round my neck at university and felt so so special. Thankyou ❤️

  19. Big fan of juniper sling here, but also kapsuke woody for lagerfeld. It’s got this great plum note going on.

  20. Dear Persolaise, everything you do regarding perfume – all the wonderful interviews, reviews and lovely YouTube videos, where you feel everybody so welcome – is of a great quality and sophistication. Thank you so much!
My favourite perfumes by Mr Cresp undoubtedly are Noah by Cacharel and Myrrh Assoluto by Valentino. Mr Cresp is a magician!

  21. Thanks for your wonderful content Persolaise, so knowledgeable. I like Light Blue, it reminds me of a lovely afternoon in 2002 in London when I went to watch Jude Law at the Young Vic in Doctor Faustus. I had liberally tested Light Blue in a department store before we went to see the play (so Im hoping my fellow audience members enjoyed it as much as me!) So that perfume reminds me of Jude Law, an excellent association!

  22. Wonderful interview, Olivier has such a nice personality and wonderous story’s i look forward to seeing what the 7th addition will be

  23. Thank you for a wonderful insightful interview. I don’t have any of his work but will be getting the Akro discovery set after this.
Keep up the good work sir.

  24. I am not familiar with any Cresp scents yet, sadly, but looking forward to learning more.

  25. Absolutely fell in love with the Akro fragrances, each evoking different moods and emotions and perfectly named too! With my absolute favourite being Awake, the coffee there is done flawless.

  26. Peoneve is the number one for me at the moment. I went through an entire bottle couple of years ago, and it still remains an olfactory compare-to when I try floral fragrances. Did not get tired of it at all.

  27. Thank you very much for this draw.. My favorite creation by Olivier Cresp is Cacharel Noa for its versatility, it is my favorite light musk.

  28. Living legend! Akro is really very creative in terms of concept and Awake is a fragrance I would love to own! Thank you for your generous draw!

  29. What a fantastic interview! The ACRO range sounds very intriguing. I will definitely get a sample set as soon as the mysterious scent no 7 has been released. The most meaningful creation by Mr Cresp for me is Noa. I bought it when it was first released, it evokes so many memories of my first time in London.

  30. To my shame I don’t know many Olivier Cresp fragrances but the one I know well and adore is Juniper Sling. A favourite summertime wear for me but perhaps I need a new, more wintery cloak of OC perfume for now …… an Akro perfume maybe?

  31. Really enjoyable interview with Monsieur Cresp. I would say that out of all of his wonderful creations, Dune is probably my favourite, but the Akro range seems extremely interesting. I’m particularly interested in Smoke as it sounds incredible and my interest has also been helped significantly by your description of the strong olfactive memories you got from your first experience with it. These sorts of experiences really are the most wonderful thing about our love of experiencing and collecting perfumes. Keep up the great work Persolaise!

  32. I’d say Kenzo Jungle Homme simply because it was a gateway drug for me. Crisp is genius for twisting expectations of notes.

  33. Thank you for another great interview, Persolaise. I missed the live but just caught up on your YouTube channel. I am one of those people mentioned, who do not enjoy the honey note in perfumes. Or, I haven’t yet come across a fragrance with honey note that would speak to me. I am not overtly familiar with Mssr. Cresp’ oeuvre (being aware of Midnight Poison and Duende), which I hope doesn’t disqualify me from the generous giveaway. I am now very much intrigued by the Akro line, especially Smoke. And Malt, although I’m not crazy about that name. How fun to celebrate our vices.
