Best Chanel perfumes, critic Persolaise 2019 2016

Today, in the first of what will probably turn into an occasional series, I’d like to look back. The Persolaise.com archive contains almost ten years’ worth of content, some of which may be unfamiliar to many of you. So I thought it might be interesting to delve into the past now and then and to re-present older posts. To start off, I’ve decided to return to 2016 when I set myself the task of choosing the best perfumes from Chanel.

It was fascinating to see the list again, because of course it made me wonder if it would have turned out differently if I’d composed it today. Certainly, the top spot would have been the same. And the number 2 slot as well, probably. No. 19 would definitely have been in there, perhaps in a different position. But I didn’t want to get too bogged down in such ruminations. And what I like best about these sorts of lists is that they provide a snapshot of a particular time, a particular way of thinking. You don’t need them to be ‘definitive’. You just need them to have been honest when they were written.

So, without further ado, let’s dig out those pearls and spruce up those aldehydes. Here’s my take – from 2016 – on the very best Chanel perfumes. Please click on the link: Super Scent – The Best Of Chanel.

Enjoy!
