Thirteen years ago, I clicked ‘Publish’ for the very first time on this little blog… not dreaming for one second that I’d still be clicking on ‘Publish’ in 2023! I know I’ve said this many times before, but hopefully I’ll be able to keep saying it again and again: there is absolutely no way Persolaise would have made it this far without all of your support. Every single comment, every single email, every single ‘coffee’ means so much to me, and I will never be able to thank you enough for your generosity and encouragement. It goes without saying that I also have to thank Madame Persolaise for putting up with all my scented endeavours, and for giving me the time and space in which to pursue them.
I marked my anniversary over on YouTube with a special ‘Ask Me Anything’ episode of Love At First Scent, in which I was quizzed about several different topics, including my favourite film directors, my thoughts on feeling ‘nomadic’ in the world, and even my top three life lessons. Click on this link to watch the video: Persolaise 13th anniversary Ask Me Anything episode.
Here’s to many more years of thinking, writing and talking about perfume,

Congratulations, Persolaise – & yes, long may you continue to inform, advise & indeed sometimes amuse us with your writing – thank you so much for doing so.
That’s very kind — thank you.
So here’s a Polish joke you can tell.
You gently slide into a conversation about Polish food.
For example, I was just thinking about how much I enjoy Polish food.
Then you ask the person, “Hey, have you had Pierogies”?
Most people will say yes.
After that, “Then have you ever had Golumopki”?
Explain it a little, then quckly ask about either Paczki or Borscht.
Don’t expalin, ask right after,
“Then what about garagekeys”? , with a heavy Polish accent.
While ther’re thinking, don’t wait to long, ask,
“Then how do you open your garage door”?
Nice little chuckles will soon follow.
Happy 13 Persolaise.
Then 15,… 20 and many more.
A fellow fragrance friend Pole.
