The sense of upheaval around us is growing more and more palpable. There’s an unshakeable feeling that change is becoming more rapid, that old certainties are weakening and that ancient structures are crumbling. Or maybe it’s just the end of summer. Maybe it’s nothing more than the angst that always seems to accompany the moment when the leaves turn brown, fall onto the earth and cover up our pavements. Whatever the reason, in recent days, I’ve found myself thinking about trustworthiness, dependability and reliability. And it is precisely this mood that I tried to convey in a recent YouTube video showcasing my Top 10 perfume recommendations for the autumn. As per usual, here’s a link: Top 10 best perfumes for autumn 2022. For the list of perfumes covered in the broadcast, with timestamps, keep scrolling.

  1. This may well be my favourite season list of yours to date. You had be absolutely enraptured from 31, Rue Cambon. I absolutely adore it, and it is one of my favourites from the Lea Exclusifs collection (along with Cuir de Russie and Bois des Iles). I have always found the balance between its heft and radiance particularly fascinating. Kudos also for Le Parfum de Therese, Oriental Velour and Vol de Nuit. Your “that’s your homework for today, boys and girls” line had me chucking too!

Looking forward to your creative output for the new season. I very much enjoyed your two-part interview with the charismatic Renaud Salmon. Your videos not only enrich the mind, but also nurture the soul. Merci beaucoup,

I love hearing from my readers, so please feel free to write a comment or ask a question.
