This is just like Caravelle Epicee but there is no salty ocean air smell. That salty note mixed with coriander was a bit too nauseating for me in CE. Additionally, CE did not last at all no matter how much I sprayed. I even doused my curtains and tapestries with it and it still went away too quickly. Nanban is a perfect replacement.

It is all about the spices here. I don't smell frankincense or myrrh, unfortunately, which are two of my favorites. Leahter? Probably, but this is not a composition where I can really isolate anything.

Suffice it to say I love this perfume and it lasts and projects all day but I do spray myself anywhere from six to eight times with it.

The story of each Arquiste perfume captures the imagination. I like the little booklet with the story of each perfume and the imagery that goes with it. For me, each perfume creates an image in my mind. Most of the time it is another place and time, just like this brand's theme.
