Just thought I'd post this for anyone reading this in future: Chanel have informed me that 28 La Pausa is not going to be discontinued… at least not for the moment.

Thanks for the sad info about 28 La Pausa, which comes as news to me. I'll have to check with Chanel if it's true. If it is, the disappearance of the perfume would leave a large, iris-shaped hole in the collection.

I refuse to go anywhere near it. I usually don't judge fragrances by their bottles, but in this case I don't care how amazingly incredible the scent is, I refuse to be sprayed by vapours emitting from the foul mouth of a pink-haired, golden robot Nicki Minaj bust.

By the way, I found your juxtaposition of Picasso's Weeping Woman to be very astute indeed; not just because I find the Nicki Minaj bust more hideous than the Weeping Woman, but also because it seems as though the Weeping Woman is crying at the sorry state of current celebrity fragrances. Just for this one, I will not be rational.

As a complete aside, I was at the Chanel boutique in Covent Garden today and was informed by the SA that 28 La Pausa would be discontinued eventually sometime this year due to the introduction of 1932 (something about maintaining the current number of bottles, etc. etc.), which is saddening indeed.
